Reduction to harmony and essentials

We got our hands on the Tutima M2 Coastline Chronograph. A review.

Glashütte is a firm seal of quality

The small town of Glashütte in Germany is the epicenter of German watchmaking. But more than 10 watch brands in that small town, with only around 3000 inhabitants, is quite unique in the world. That said, “Glashütte I/SA” (in Saxony) on the dial is a firm seal of quality.

Tutima

One of the Glashütte brands carrying this tradition is Tutima, which combines an excellent watchmaking tradition with modern innovation. Their prices range from an affordable price level up to the mind-blowing Minute Repeater. Throughout the years, the focus on clear functionality and quality earned a unique positioning for the brand.

Introducing the new Tutima M2 Coastline Chronograph

This new chronograph finds itself at the core of Tutima’s DNA: a functional, robust and sporty timepiece that always looks ready for action. Dial, case and materials follow the M2 philosophy of reducing things to the essentials. The brand combined clear, linear design of all elements with a good choice of colours.

The new iterations involve a blue dial/blue strap (reference number 6430-06) and a black dial with subtle red minute- and small seconds hands (6430-05), having pure titanium bracelet or a two-component Cordura strap. In both cases fitted in a 43mm satin-brushed titanium case.

The youngest member of the M2 family is powered by an automatic Tutima Caliber 310, having an 48-hour power reserve, date display, hour-, minute- and small second-hand. The chronograph push buttons are ergonomically integrated in the case. A nice detail: the titanium push buttons have a coating in black PVD with a non-slip surface.

An affordable sporty watch

Tutima priced the M2 Coastline Chronograph at $ 3,300 (blue dial leather strap) and $ 3,600 (titanium bracelet). This watch is an excellent choice for the watch fan that looks for a no-nonsense sporty and good-looking watch.
