Oris introduces the Propilot X with three solid dials and the amazing caliber 400!

During Watches and Wonders 2022, ORIS presented the new ORIS Propilot x Caliber 400. Read our view on this watch.

A feast

The open worked dial and movement of the original ORIS Propilot X from Oris was quite a feast to look at when it was originally introduced. However, the 44mm case size and open worked construction did not suit everybody. Fans however, were desiring a smaller solid dial version that still offered the full titanium construction.

The ORIS Propilot X comes in three matte colours

Fast forward to 2022 and Oris has answered our prayers with the new Propilot X that now comes in a 39mm titanium case and bracelet version. This ensures the design DNA of the original Propilot X is still visible, while the smaller case offers broaders wearability and the solid dials improve legibility.

Available in three matte colour ways (salmon like red, grey and blue) the new dials display the date at six o’clock as well as central seconds, minutes and hours hands. The dials contrast beautifully against the dark hue of the titanium case and bracelet and thanks to the smaller case diameter will appeal to men and women alike.

10 year warranty on the Caliber 400

With the addition of the brand’s new Caliber 400 movement ORIS offers automatic winding and 5 days power reserve. On top of that, better precision and a 10 year warranty. The ORIS Propilot X does not look like it, but it is a proper modern pilots watch.

Thanks to the clever movement design and use of state of the art materials, ORIS does not require a soft-iron cage for magnetic resistance, which allows the usage of a sapphire caseback to admire the movement with industrial finish. Similar to the movement, the case and bracelet have an industrial look that perfectly accentuates the watch appearance.

The ORIS Propilot X Cal 400 at an affordable price point

With a screw down crown and 10 bar water resistance,  the watch is perfectly suited for daily wear by men and women alike. With its modern appearance and high quality features, it further exemplifies Oris’ ability to create fantastic watches at an affordable price point. I am a fan!
