“Wherever time takes you, Lucerne travels with you” embodies the cosmopolitan spirit of the brand. In the last decade, these words have not only been proven in the ambitious line-up of watches, but certainly as well in the way Carl F. Bucherer is positioned as a company. The energy that CEO Sascha Moeri and his team bring is felt on all continents. Both in real life events, partnerships and online presence. A global brand that always remembers its roots. Yes, the past decade of Carl F. Bucherer can be read as a success story.
A good looking chronograph
In 2016 the Carl F. Bucherer Manero Flyback was introduced. A classic, good-looking chronograph with the 1970 automatic movement, developed by La Joux-Perret for CFB. I remember the steel version, attractively priced at ?5.500 was the one that caught my attention back then. Several variations have been launched since, and the retro-looking reverse-panda dial from 2018 showed already how the Manero Flyback’s initial classic looks could easily be turned into a more sporty, “different” watch.
Never change a winning concept too much
Today Carl F. Bucherer is taking another step in the Manero Flyback chapter. In two versions, they introduce a blue dial, to be chosen with either a nine-link metal bracelet or a blue textile strap. The strap is woven from radiant blue thread that creates a fascinating 3D effect. What you get is a great allrounder, having the same CFB 1970 movement, 42-hour power reserve and a robust 43 mm case size. Never change a winning concept too much. However, I am positively surprised how a few changes create a new touch, taking the Manero Flyback to another level of sportiness.
The Carl F. Bucherer Manero Flyback for the cosmopolitan traveller
The Cosmopolitan traveler with a soft spot for “Made in Lucerne” has something new to choose here. The Manero Flyback goes from classic to rather sporty in variation. Both new pieces will be presented to the public from August 26 to 29 at an exclusive product and brand experience in Geneva, alongside other novelties. The Carl F. Bucherer Manero Flyback blue dial is priced at $5,500 on strap and $5,900 on bracelet. Keep an eye on Lucerne in the next month, I’d say…
